Crafted from 100 per cent Blue Weber Agave and produced according to traditional methods at Orendain Distillery in Jalisco, Flecha Azul has a portfolio of five distinctive tequilas which are making their way into the on-premise around the world.

Building on the brand’s global market presence, Flecha Azul has announced its expansion into Australia after two successful launches in Mexico and Canada last year.

Founded by Mexican-American professional golfer Abraham Ancer and Mexican entrepreneur Aron Marquez, the brand has also been backed by American actor Mark Wahlberg, who will support the rollout in the Australian market with bar takeovers and bottle signings across Sydney.

“I’m excited to be here as Australians get to experience their first taste of Flecha Azul. This is an additive-free, authentic Mexican tequila, and my goal is for the world to try it. Australia is a huge step in that direction and we’re so happy to be here,” says Wahlberg.

Flecha Azul’s core range of tequilas includes a Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Añejo Cristalino and Extra Añejo, each being additive-free and authentically crafted.

The Blanco tequila is stored in stainless steel tanks with a palate of spices, ripe fruit and honey-sweet floral notes, while the Reposado is aged for six months in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels, delivering layers of citrus, gentle grassiness, praline, vanilla and sandalwood.

The Añejo is Flecha Azul’s most full-bodied tequila, aged for 18 months in ex-Bourbon barrels, which is six months longer than the industry standard and results in notes of rich maple, caramel, dried herbs, pineapple and black pepper.

Building on the warmth of the Añejo, the triple-filtered Añejo Cristalino maintains the softness on the palate, balanced with notes of vanilla and dark chocolate for a long finish. Finally, the Extra Añejo has layers of praline, roasted pineapple and vanilla with a balanced and complex finish.

Michael Cox, Head of Sales at Vanguard Luxury Brands, which will distribute the brand in Australia, says it is exciting for Wahlberg to be supporting the Australian launch of Flecha Azul.
