Parramatta Eels brothers Kris and Matt Keating will officially open Oktoberfest at the Bavarian Bier Café in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta tonight (October 1).

To commemorate the occasion, they will tap open a 30-litre wooden beer keg of ‘Oktoberfestbier’ especially shipped in from Munich for the occasion. Similar kegs will be tapped open at other Bavarian Bier Café outlets over the next week.

As the newest addition to the Bavarian Bier Café family, Bavarian Bier Café Parramatta manager, Jimmy Strong, said he was very excited to launch the event.

“Tapping the keg is a big honour and I know that brothers Matt and Kris Keating are thrilled to be our guest ‘tappers’,” he said. “They’ll be rewarded with the first taste of bier from the keg.”

In addition, to celebrate its first Oktoberfest, the Parramatta Bier Café will be offering $1 chicken schnitzels today and tomorrow (October 1 and 2).

Oktoberfest at the Bavarian Bier Café Parramatta runs until the end of October.
