Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) together with Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) have launched a pilot induction training program called Train My Venue.

The new online training program has been developed for hotels and clubs across Australia in conjunction with industry bodies the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) and the Club Managers Association of Australia (CMAA).

The scheme is backed by hospitality training provider William Angliss Institute with its official launch set for early 2011, from when it will be available to venues of all sizes.

“This comprehensive and user-friendly online induction program will provide training for hospitality employees with varying levels of experience – from new entrants to long-standing employees.” said CUB sales director Peter Cantwell.

This online induction program will focus on the fundamentals and essential skills needed in the hospitality industry, like pouring a good beer and important wine knowledge.

“This fantastic initiative will help take the mystery out of wine for venue owners, managers and their teams," said Treasury Wine Estates sales director Chris Flaherty.

"It will instill confidence in those who are required to sell and serve a great glass of wine and this will in turn help to drive sales.”
