Gallagher Hotels has launched an expanded option on one of Sydney’s best-known pubs, including a new cider bar overlooking Circular Quay.
Pulling the strings now at over a dozen venues – with the rumour mill squeaking of another recent purchase – the highly awarded Gallaghers have instilled their successful Irish branding through the iconic Jacksons on George, purchased late last year.
The new offering includes a whiskey bar on street level, Temple One nightclub on level one, and the Magners Rooftop Cider Bar upstairs, overlooking George St and Circular Quay.
PJ’s Irish Whiskey Bar boasts over 100 labels from around the world, and avid whiskey drinker Patrick Gallagher speaks of “first-class drops from the remaining four distilleries in Ireland”.
The Magners Rooftop Cider Bar is designed to reflect the open, organic feel and look of an orchard, and Gallagher feels it is an especially good match for the location.
“We're excited to be providing Sydneysiders with their first rooftop cider bar where the buzzing Sydney atmosphere of George Street and the charm of Gallagher Hotels' Irish venues meet.
“Recently, we've seen the popularity of cider skyrocket so the cider bar provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a bottle of crisp cider amongst one of Sydney's most bustling, vibrant streets."
The re-worked Jacksons aims to offer something different on every level, each with the Gallaghers' touch.
The new menu has been developed by the Group’s award-winning executive chef Ronny Ghantous, bringing traditional Irish fare combined with fresh, local produce, as well as pub staples such as PJ’s Signature Lamb Shanks, and the famous Steak & Guinness Pie.
