Time is running out to enter the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition for 2019/2020, with Australian entries closing next week.

Bacardi has revealed that the 2019/2020 competition has already received a record number of entries. Bartenders have until midnight AEST on 10 September to submit their Legacy cocktail creation for a chance to make it to the Top 30. From there, competitors will fight it out in the national final rounds as judges search for the highest quality and deepest passion for innovation.

Known as one of the world’s largest and most prestigious cocktail competitions, the Bacardi Legacy challenges bartenders to invent a timeless rum based cocktail, to the legendary status of the original Bacardi Mojito and Daiquirí.

The winner of the Australian chapter of the competition will go on to represent the country at the Bacardi Legacy Global Final in Miami next year, following in the footsteps of the current Australian title-holder, Jenna Hemsworth (pictured above).

Thanks to Hemsworth and her Legacy predecessors, including Alissa Gabriel, Andrew Bennett, Dave Kerr and Jimmy Irvine, Australia is recognised as a significant contributor to the bartending profession worldwide.

The Australian cocktail industry has always been well represented in the Bacardi Legacy with incredible past performances in the global finals. With a strong history of placing at least in the top 16, there’s sure to be high expectations of our next representative. Do you have what it takes?
