Glengoyne Scotch Whisky is emphasising its environmental credentials with 100 per cent recyclable packaging now available across its entire range throughout Australia.

Apart from the corks all the new packaging materials have been sourced close to the distillery to reduce carbon footprint.

The 10, 12, Legacy Series and Cask Strength packaging is 100 per cent recyclable. Each carved wooden gift box containing Glengoyne 25 and 30 Year-Old Whiskies has been made to facilitate second usage. All plastic, metal and magnets have been removed and each box features personalisable plaques, peelable labels and removable inners to allow it to be re-used and re-purposed.

Martin Howey, Glengoyne business development director, said: “We are excited to unveil our new sustainable packaging as part of our long-standing commitment to the preservation of the environment.  We were the first Scottish distillery to adopt a wetlands facility for our liquid waste (home to 14,500 plants and abundant wildlife including two beehives) and we have been powered by renewable wind energy since 2019, earning us the reputation of Scotland’s greenest distillery.

“This is a project two years in the making and we are very proud to be the first Whisky producer to introduce a 100 per cent recyclable and reusable packaging solution as part of our long-standing commitment to sustainability and the future.

“As a family-owned business, we have the luxury of time on our side to enable us to be true to our craft, ensuring that each drop of Glengoyne is naturally distilled and delivers exceptional, artisanal taste down to the last drop.”

Glengoyne range is extensive and includes 10, 12, 21, 25 and 30 Year-Olds, plus the highly awarded special releases including Cask Strength and Legacy Series.
