Good Beer Week will be unveiling a special brew created by beer fans in addition to the 85-plus festival events taking place around Victoria from May 12 to 19.
Until March 11 entries are open to the trade and public for the best, most creative, funniest and most innovative name and idea for a beer, with the winning concept to be brewed by Melbourne's Temple Brewery & Brasserie.
The top six ideas will be selected by a team of judges on March 12 and posted on The People's Pint website for voting. The winner will be announced on March 26.
"As part of my job as a brewer, I get to dream up beer ideas and recipes every day, but that's an opportunity the majority miss out on," said Temple owner, Ron Feruglio.
The People's Pint is an initiative by The Crafty Pint. To enter, go to www.peoplespint.com.au and describe the perfect beer in 50 words or less.
"The world of beer has never been as exciting or colourful as it is today, with brewers here and overseas creating some truly amazing beers where the only limit is their imagination. We thought it would be fun to open up the process to the country to see what an entire nation can concoct," said Crafty Pint founder, James Smith.
