A Sydney-based wine and spirits wholesale distributor has confirmed that it has formed a partnership with one Italy’s most popular brands of grappa.

Euro Concepts, launched in 2009, has reached an agreement with Grappa Nardini to exclusively distribute its grappa portfolio in Australia to both on and off-premise accounts.

Euro Concepts currently imports and distributes a premium range of wines, beers and spirits from Northern Italy, France, and New Zealand along with a range of boutique Australian wines.

Euro Concepts owner, Robert Dessanti, said the partnership with Grappa Nardini was a welcome addition to the Euro Concepts portfolio.

“Euro Concepts has been asked to look after the Nardini brand in Australia and we are pleased to take on such a prestigious Italian iconic brand in our portfolio,” Dessanti said.

Grappa Nardini has a long history as a premium grappa producer in Italy and Dessanti plans to leverage off Grappa Nardini’s reputation as he sets out to educate the trade.

“Grappa Nardini has been produced in Bassano del Grappa since 1779, the oldest distillery in Italy. Bortolo Nardini, already an expert in the art of distillation, left his home and descended upon Bassano to open his distillery and ‘grapperia’ at the entrance to the famous bridge designed by Palladio, on the Brenta river. The grapperia has remained unchanged through the years and is now listed as a Historical Place of Italy,” Dessanti said.

The Grappa Nardini range includes a Grappa Bianca, Grappa Riserva 3 Years, Grappa Riserva 15 Years, Grappa di Ruta, Acqua di Cedro Liqueur and Tagliatella Liqueur.
