Margan Chardonnay, 2012
Broke Fordwich, Hunter Valley

The grapes for this wine were picked from the 45 year old Margan Vineyards grown in the volcanic soil of the ancient Fordwich Sill, Hunter Valley.  These low yielding mature vines produce ripe, concentrated fruit which results in a wine with excellent regional and varietal characters.  The wine was partially matured in new French barriques for subtle oak integration and added complexity and richness.

The result is a wine that is a youthful green, gold in colour and exhibits a complex bouquet of grapefruit and melon with hints of well-integrated nutty oak aromas.  It has a textured palate with great structure and is beautifully balanced with a long, lingering finish. Enjoy as a young wine and over the next 3 – 5 years with careful cellaring.

Fine Wine Partners is offering Margan Chardonnay 2012 as a ‘Power Pour’ for the next 3 months starting March.
