Griffith’s Westend Estate Wines will begin the new year with a new name.

From January 6, the family-owned winery will be known as Calabria Family Wines, paying homage to the Calabria family’s winemaking history in Australia.

Sales and marketing manager, Andrew Calabria, said the name change reflects the evolution of the company into a global brand that is exported to 26 countries.

“We have a strong business and believe we need to differentiate ourselves from today’s corporate world of winemaking by highlighting we are the family behind the company,” he said.

“This name change will also honour the extraordinary efforts of our father, Bill Calabria, who has been an inspiration to each and every one of the family throughout our lives and equally wonderful to our dedicated workforce – we see the Calabria name on every bottle being a flag-bearer of personal involvement, dedication and quality.”

Calabria Family Wines will retain its current portfolio of brands, including Calabria Bros., Three Bridges, Calabria Private Bin, Westend Cool Climate Series, Richland, Eternity, Poker Face, and Francesco & Bettina.
