Hardys has been named the world’s most powerful Australian wine brand in an annual international wine and spirit study.

The 2008 Power 100 list, produced by UK based brand valuation consultancy, Intangible Business, is the result of research conducted into almost 10,000 wine and spirits brands across the world.

The research measures elements such as market share, brand growth and price positioning to create the final list.

Hardys was one of only seven Australian wine brands named in the study, and achieved a two per cent growth on last year’s score, seeing it climb into the top 20.

“We are very proud of the achievements of our Hardys wines and pay tribute to those involved in its success over the past 155 years leading to this accolade,” said Hardys winemaker, Paul Lapsley.
