The NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) is calling for final submissions on its draft guidelines for the promotion of liquor before the deadline closes on August 31.

The Director of Liquor and Gaming is required to issue guidelines about the promotion of liquor under the 2007 Liquor Act to ensure licensees sell and supply liquor in a responsible manner.

The guidelines will indicate the kinds of activities or promotions the director would prohibit and restrict. They are also designed to help licensees determine the risks with a proposed activity or promotion involving the sale and supply of liquor.

The guidelines will extend to draws and competitions that are conducted on licensed premises that allow participation through the purchase of alcohol or where prizes consist of alcohol.

For more information contact 02 9995 0776 or email Robert.hanns@olgr.nsw.gov.au.

The guidelines will be finalised and published in September.
