Hellyers Road, the country’s largest boutique distillery, has released a range of Whisky Creams to complement its range of single malt whiskies.

The whisky creams are an interesting Segway for the distillery, which is a fully-owned subsidiary of Tasmania’s second largest milk processing company, Betta Milk. That company was founded in 1956 by a cooperative of local dairy farmers and today remains predominantly in the ownership of their descendants, as a private un-listed company.

The range includes Original, Coffee and Hazelnut varieties, all with a base of Hellyers Road Original Single Malt Whisky and fresh Tasmanian cream.

The Original variety has aromas of chocolate, coconut, and malt biscuit; while the Coffee offers rich espresso, biscuit and hazelnut.

Hellyers Road Distillery has won multiple awards, including Best New World Whisky 2013 at the prestigious Whisky Live Paris; while in 2010 the peated variety was recognised by the Malt Whisky Association of Australia as the nation’s Best Single Malt.

The whisky cream range comes in 700ml bottles, with 17 per cent ABV and retails for RRP$37.50.
