Casa Herradura has launched its añejo tequila Herradura Legend in Australia, a permanent addition to the brand’s ultra-premium portfolio.
Valued at $300 RRP, the new release showcases the brand’s premium tequila production and barrel making. The añejo is made in small batches from 100 per cent Blue Weber Agave, traditionally cooked, naturally fermented, twice distilled, and matured for at least 12 months using a combination of seasoned, grooved and new American white oak barrels.
Casa Herradura, the home of Tequila Herradura, produces its own barrels which have been deeply grooved to expose the tequila to more layers of toasted oak as it ages, resulting in the highest quality añejo tequila which is rich in colour and has a smooth finish.
Herradura Legend marks the first release under a new generation of Casa Herradura’s female legacy, with Karinna Enriquez Hurtado currently serving as Master Taster, joining a long history of women leading the production of Tequila Herradura.
Richard Dredge, Senior Brand Manager at Herradura Tequila, spoke about the launch of Legend.
“At Tequila Herradura, we’ve been innovating in the tequila category for more than 150 years, and that continues with the launch of Legend. Legend’s one-of-a-kind production process sets it apart from its category competitors. It’s an incredibly rich and smooth sipping tequila that we know all Aussies love.”
The tequila has already received global recognition, recently winning the Gold Medal in the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and scoring 93 in the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
Herradura Legend is available now through major retailers.
