Lo-Fi will be hosting a bartenders Christmas party as part of this week's Sunday Down Lo Session, which looks set to be a memorable rum-fuelled yuletide celebration.

The Sunday Down Lo Session nights were launched by Riversdale’s group beverage manager, Dan Woolley, to give the local hospitality community a regular place to hang out and let their hair down, with a range of well-known Sydney bartenders doing guests shifts behind the bar and the turntables each week.

Woolley predicts this Sunday will be a huge celebration and he even promises to don the Santa Claus suit to get into the spirit of things.

“This Sunday will be the last one for the year, that’s why we are doing a huge bartenders' Christmas party, it is going to be a massive one and we are not going to be holding another Down Lo Session till January 8th next year.”

Apart from the usual ‘blender battle’ on the balcony between two different brand ambassadors, this week the bar will also be serving $7 Mai Tais, made from a selection of rums supplied by companies such as Bacardi Lion, Pernod Ricard, Suntory and island2island

And every Mai Tai people purchase will earn them a raffle ticket for a premium rum package that will be given away at the end of the night.

“It’s a really awesome prize and will include Bacardi 8, Havana Club 7 Year Old, Mount Gay Extra Old, Angostura 1824 and many more. It’s a huge give away and the winner's home bar will never be the same again,” Woolley says.
