The Hobart Rum Club is proving to be a resounding success with over 30 local industry professionals confirmed for tonight’s (May 27) meeting at the New Sydney Hotel.

Hosted by Bacardi brand ambassador Damian Kaehler, the session will cover Bacardi’s 150 year old heritage, from its conception in Cuba through to the present day.

Following this, guests will be given the opportunity to sample rums from the Australian Bacardi portfolio, which includes Bacardi Superior and Bacardi 8. They will also have a chance to try the Bacardi Anejo, which is not available in Australia.

"I am looking forward to presenting one of the world’s most iconic brands – Bacardi- to Tasmania’s elite bartender set,” said Kaehler.

The first meeting, held last month, was hosted by James France from Vanguard Luxury Brands, who led the group in a tasting of the Flor de Cana rum range.

Rum Clubs are taking off across Australia, with factions now operating in Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart. Sydney’s club will reform next month, after lying dormant for several years.
