The old adage that practise makes perfect has never applied more to hotel industry veteran, Arthur Laundy, who bagged a hole-in-one in the past week after 55 years playing the game of golf.

Playing in a pro/am tournament at the exclusive Bonnie Doon Golf Club in Sydney's Pagewood, Laundy graciously accepted advice from golf pro Mark Patterson immediately prior to his hole-in-one eagle on the 16th.

"That may make you the best teacher in the world," Laundy proclaimed to Patterson. "And me the best student."

Arthur Laundy began his hotel empire in 1945 with the Sackville Hotel in Rozelle, and now boasts over thirty venues around the country.
