Twenty-six members of the Porter’s Liquor group headed to Hong Kong recently for the group’s annual conference, which was timed to coincide with the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair.

Held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event is one of the largest in the world and attracted over 500 exhibitors from all parts of the globe.

Over a busy three days, the Porters team attended various events at the exhibition including structured tastings of wines from the major Spanish wine regions, a masterclass on Argentinean Cabernet Sauvignon, and exploring the wines that fellow New World wine regions are producing.

The Porter’s group also found time to hold their annual conference, with the agenda designed to allow group coordinator, Daryl Fisher, to review the group’s successful promotional activities of 2010 and roll out new ideas for promotions for 2011.

“Porter’s is quite unique as an independent banner group – the members actually understand that the more they focus on supporting the Porter’s promotional activity, the more successful their stores will become. It is very refreshing to see,” said Fisher.
