With less than a month until the inaugural Hotel, Hospitality and Design 2010 expo in Melbourne, Diversified Exhibitions has announced the event will include a unique ‘Hotel Room of the Future’ display concept which will see the latest technology and gadgets fitted within a real-size room on the exhibition floor.

The room concept, sponsored by Essense Hospitality Solutions for One Vision IPTV in-room entertainment, is designed to provide visitors to the expo with a preview of the latest products that will be installed into hotels over the coming years.

“Any seasoned traveller will tell you the number one reason for hotels is to provide a bed to sleep in.  The most important factor of a hotel room can only be the bed, the linen and the pillows. The Hotel Room of the Future shows the latest and very best products on the market including a futuristic design in beds from AH Beard and in pillows from Microcloud,” said HH+D exhibition director, Michael-William Kelly.

“Other features of the Hotel Room of the Future include: touch controlled computer screens with internet access, bathroom mirrors which morph into television screens, a kinesis gym fitted to the wall that folds out in minutes to transform a hotel room into a gym and back again and mini bars that read what guests have consumed with an in-built touch monitor,” he said.

“Also on display will be advancements in technology are central to the changes hotel guests can expect to experience in new hotel rooms and integral to this new technology is the Pronto device. The Pronto device allows the guest to control everything in their room including; the colour of the lighting in the room – Philips LED lighting is installed in coves at the top of the ceiling that change the shade of the walls, lighting, furnishings and décor to suit the taste of the guest; and all entertainment systems including the Philips Ultimate HDTV entertainment system accessing Theme TV, a simplified user interface for hotel entertainment systems, and Essense Hospitality Solutions’ integrated One Vision IPTV product.”
