Hotel Centennial, in the Sydney suburb of Woolhara is planning a week-long series of events to celebrate its first birthday.

The events, which start on Monday, 20 April, range from an organic High Tea through to Celebrity Chef Dinners with Manu Feildel and Justin North.

John Noble of Halcyon Hotels told TheShout: "The Centennial opened 12 months ago and it has been a terrific first year and the whole idea is to put on these activities, just to really thank everybody for all of their support. We also wanted to give them the chance to come back in and engage in a new way.

"We work with local businesses, suppliers and local producers and we just really wanted to say thank you to everybody for making it such a great first year.

"The customers are the ones who keep it all going and the whole action of next week is really for them."

As well as the celebrity chef dinner, which is on Thursday night, there is a Friday Flute and a "Best of Woolhara" dinner on Wednesday.

Noble added that Wednesday's event was proving popular with customers.

He added: "We're trying to tie together the best of Woolhara and we're working with other business to show what Woolhara is."

The Hotel Centennial was originally established in 1888, and was reopened in April 2014 by Halcyon Hotels after an extensive refurbishment. The hotel won the 2014 AHA award for the best redeveloped hotel in Sydney.
