The team behind BarNone, East of Everything, Gumbo Kitchen and Po’ Boy Quarter has opened the doors to its latest New Orleans inspired venue, Huey Long’s.

Located in Fitzroy, the new venue specialises in New Orleans classic cocktails and food. It is named after the legendary populist Louisiana governor, Huey P. Long, who strongly opposed prohibition and was known for his love of cocktails.

Situated at the back of Po’ Boy Quarter, the bar has an extensive drinks list with cocktails priced at $15, including a strong selection of classic and signature cocktails and drinks such as the Sazerac, Hurricane and Ramos Gin Fizz.

“We have a dedicated New Orleans cocktail list, only American wines and we will soon have a shipment of Louisiana craft beers arriving. There are also rotating specials where bartenders recreate classic cocktails with a modern twist,” said owner Michael Cotter.

“A full food menu is available, providing the chance to finally match a Gumbo with a Sazerac or sit at the bar and enjoy freshly shucked oysters. Huey Long’s also allows patrons to enjoy the full Po’ Boy Quarter menu in a more relaxed environment.”
