Next Monday (June 1) marks the start of this year’s Hunter Valley Wine and Food Month, a celebration of Hunter Valley wine and produce.

Throughout June, hundreds of events across the three main boutique communities – Mount View, Lovedale and Hermitage Rd – will pay homage to the iconic NSW wine region.

Events such as the ‘Nine Miles Around Hermitage’ on June 13 to 14 will give visitors the chance to sample new release and pre-release flagship wines from local Hermitage Rd vineyards such as Tintilla Estate and Wombat Crossing.

Hunter Valley Wine Industry Association business development manager Rowena Hawkins said that all of the Hunter Valley communities were “producing unique culinary experiences in a very real and unspoilt environment”.

“Visitors to these areas will get a first-hand insight into the hard work and dedication of both young and old families who are proud to call their community home,” she said.

Other events throughout the month will include food and wine matching, winemaker dinners and winery tours.
