The Gold and Trophy award-winning wines from the recent Hunter Valley Wine Show will be available for tastings by the trade at an event on Tuesday October 9 in Sydney.

The tasting will be held from 3 to 6pm at the harbourside location of Coast Rooftop Bar, with some of the winemakers and wine show judges available to speak with the trade.

The winners from the 2012 Clear Image Hunter Valley Wine Show will be available for tasting between 4 and 5pm, while there will be at least 15 wineries showing their full range, including Brokenwood, Margan, Thomas, Tyrrell's, De Iuliis, Tempus Two, McGuigan and Scarborough.

The provocative Hunter winemakers say the tasting will include "the only decent flagship reds in the country" from 2011 in Hunter Valley Shiraz.

There will also be Semillon in all its incarnations – "zesty, off-dry, wild and well, just downright delicious".
