Fast-growing Ghost Tequila is now available in Australia thanks to a new partnership with Queensland-based Iconic Beverages, who will market and distribute the brand here.
Distilled and bottled in Jalisco, Mexico, Ghost Tequila is an agave spicy tequila which first launched in the US for years ago and has seen more than 200 per cent growth so far in 2021. Australia marks the first major international expansion for the brand outside of North America.
Ghost Tequila was created by former bartender Chris Moran, who created the brand after recognising the need for a high-quality spicy tequila that would help make spicy margaritas and other spicy cocktails more consistent and easy to mix.
“Australia is one of the top growth markets for tequila and agave spirits, and we’re thrilled that Aussie consumers will now be able to discover and enjoy Ghost Tequila across the country,” Moran said.

Moran said his goal in creating Ghost Tequila was first and foremost to craft a high-quality tequila, and then make it spicy. The result was a tequila with a clean spice – precisely the right amount of balanced heat without suppressing the natural flavor of the agave – that complements, not overpowers, cocktails.
