The nightclub manager at the centre of the Iguanagate affair has been sacked for repeatedly breaching responsible service of alcohol regulations, his employer said.

Jared Golla, who has worked as operation manager at Iguanas Waterfront Bar on the NSW central coast since 2001, was dismissed last week after allowing a man to enter the premises after door staff had ruled him to be intoxicated, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Golla insists he has never received a written warning from his employer and believes he was targeted for dismissal over the incident that saw NSW Education Minister John Della Bosca and his wife, Federal MP Belinda Neal, stood down for allegedly verbalising and threatening nightclub staff on June 6.

Golla said he is considering legal action.

Iguana’s management has dismissed Golla’s allegations and said his dismissal was unrelated to Iguanagate.
