A group of travel weary but excited delegates have checked into the Royal Livingstone Hotel in Zambia to kick off the annual ILG conference.

ILG chief executive officer Allen De Costa said delegates can look forward to just over a week of interactive business sessions, networking, team building and the very best that South Africa has to offer in both Zambia and Cape Town.

“We have 132 delegates here which comprises about 20 suppliers and our members. They can expect a bit of everything, we’ve got some business sessions coming up and it’s going to be fantastic,” De Costa told TheShout

“We’ve got five different speakers in Cape Town and they’re all really focused on how to explore and connect back with the suppliers and how our members can connect with their customers.”

De Costa also hinted at some bigger things to come for the co-operative’s annual conference in 2015.

“Next year will be the 40th anniversary for ILG so we’re going to do something bigger and better to incorporate more of our members through and encourage more members to come. We’re looking at Turkey next year to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli so it should be a truly memorable experience and opportunity for members and delegates alike.”

TheShout will be reporting live from South Africa for the duration of the conference.
