The Independent Liquor Group (ILG) has appointed Doug Evans as the company’s new chief executive officer.

Evans brings more than 16 years experience in senior management positions to the co-operative, which supplies liquor to 865 shareholder members in NSW and QLD.

The appointment follows a busy period for ILG, which achieved record sales of $247 million last year and opened a state-of-the-art distribution centre in Sydney.

ILG executive chairman, Bob Bourne, said the board was delighted to attract an executive with Evans’ experience to build on ILG’s recent achievements.

“Doug Evans understands this industry very well, and the Board is looking forward to working with him to continue growing the business,” he said.

“A major focus of our operation is providing our independent members with the ability to combat the larger chains through keener pricing and the promotion of our new brand, Little Bottler.”
