Event speakers: Claire Van Vuuren, Jenna Hemwsorth, Sam Stefani, Susannah Robinson, Abby Roennfeldt and Nicole Durdin

Yesterday the third annual International Women’s Day (IWD) lunch was hosted by Women of Australian Distilling, Women in Hospitality (WOHO) and Nip of Courage, at Sydney’s Bloodwood restaurant.

It was another successful year for the event, which was held in conjunction with event partners and sponsors including Australian Gin Distillers Association, P&V Wine + Liquor, Banks & Solander Distillery, Brookie’s Gin, Grainshaker Vodka, Never Never Distilling Co., and Seppeltsfield Road Distillers.

This year the event was a ‘cocktail degustation’, featuring dishes specially curated by Bloodwood’s team.

The lunch was packed with great female speakers from across Australia’s distilling industry, who spoke about how they got their start in the distilling industry, and how they have navigated a range of challenges to get to where they are now.

As these speakers shared their inspiring stories, guests were able to enjoy cocktails matched with each dish, using the spirits and brands that the speakers represented. It was a unique experience to celebrate the women and the stories behind some of our favourite drinks.
