This week saw the first-ever 'Cambalache: One Day in Argentina' trade tasting take place in Sydney, showcasing the best of the wines coming from Argentina.

Taking place at Pier One in Sydney's Walsh Bay, the event enjoyed sunshine and the perfect backdrop of Sydney Harbour.

Presented by Wines of Argentina and the Consulate General of the Argentine Republic in Sydney, Cambalache highlighted the variety of Argentina's wine-producing regions and the families behind the wines. Attendees also found out more about Argentina's culture, people and spirit.

Will Whitby from Jed Wine Merchants, whose Malbec and late harvest Torrontés from the Uco Valley were amongst some of the most popular wines on the day told TheShout: “It was a very successful day with a good mix of trade and media.”

Professionals across Australia’s food and drinks industry enjoyed an afternoon featuring Argentinean culture, music, food, and, of course, wine. More than 400 wines were on offer for tasting – both products already available in Australia and those from Argentina looking for a distributor here.
