Friends of the Sydney hospitality industry's Mikee Collins (pictured), who suffered a terrible accident last month, are seeking industry support for an upcoming fundraising event.

Collins, owner and managing director of Alira Moorish Food and Wine Bar in Pyrmont, remains in a critical but stable condition after falling from an eighth-floor balcony.

A veteran of the hospitality industry, Collins has previously worked at and managed some of Sydney's most renowned venues including Rockpool, Wildfire, Gazebo and Ash Street Cellar.

He will be in intensive care for some time, followed by many months of hospitalisation and rehabilitation, but his support team is hopeful for a positive outcome.

Keystone Group have provided the newly renovated Cargo Bar for the fundraising event to be held on the 30th January with all proceeds going towards Collins' long road to recovery.

"There's no doubt that this will be an event unlike any other the Sydney hospitality industry has seen," the organisers say.

"At present, we have secured some of the country's best bartenders and the world's best flair bartenders to work at the event for free. We are also currently fielding offers from top DJs, performers and celebrities who are all interested in attending."

"We are currently looking for support from suppliers and distributors to provide product for the bar on the night. All proceeds from the bar will be donated to Mikee and any and all donations are appreciated!"

The organisers say they have already received support from companies including Treasury Wine Estates, Carlton United Brewers, John Boston, Little Creatures, San Pellegrino, Torbreck, Man o War, Red Bull, Diageo and more.

"We'll also have an auction to raise further funds, including items such as dinner with Simon Thomsen (Daily Telegraph, Restaurant Critic) at the restaurant of your choice, an around the world ticket through Flight Centre, 5 nights' accommodation in exclusive Rome Hotel and a signed Sydney Roosters memorabilia and much, much more."

"100 per cent of proceeds raised on the night will help provide Mikee with financial support for his medical and living expenses as he recovers from his accident."

The event is open to the public, and tickets are available from Moshtix.
