Italian liqueur Tuaca has announced a new cocktail competition for aspiring bartenders.

The competition, which runs until 30 November, asks bartenders to create a cocktail using at least 30ml of Tuaca and submit the recipe online.

With a focus on simplicity, the drink must contain a maximum of five ingredients and all ingredients must be readily available. Things like homemade syrups are excluded.

A panel of industry experts will then make all the nominated drinks and the winner will be judged based on the taste and presentation of their submitted recipe.

First prize is a trip for two to Hamilton Island valued at $4,600. Second prize is a $500 bar tab and third prize is a set of deluxe bar equipment.
