Suntory Australia has announced that it will cease distributing the Jägermeister brand in Australia as of June 30.

Suntory Australia and Mast-Jägermeister, the owner of the Jägermeister brand, have had a successful partnership over the past ten years, building the brand up from obscurity to sales of more than 100,000 cases.

Last year Suntory Australia launched the first ever Jägermeister RTDs, Jägermeister RAW and Jägermeister Ginger Lime, into the local market.

“Suntory wish Mast-Jägermeister the best of luck for their future plans in Australia,” the company said.

Earlier last month, Mast-Jägermeister reported global sales of 87.1 million Jägermeister bottles, a growth of 2.5 per cent on the previous year, making it one of the world’s best-selling liqueur brands.

Sources have indicated to TheShout that Brown Forman is likely to take over distribution in Australia.
