Two new venues were added this year to the national network of James Squire brewbars, which have started pouring exclusive beers specially created by the Malt Shovel Brewery.

Kapinkoff Nominees, owner of the Generous Squire in Perth, recently opened the city’s second James Squire venue, The Squire’s Fortune in Scarborough.

This brought to seven the number of James Squire-branded venues nationally, with Brisbane operator Mantle Group having added The Charming Squire in September.

A Lion spokeswoman told TheShout that James Squire will continue to look for additional locations “if we find the right sites and the right partners”.

“The James Squire Brewbars are proving to be very popular with people and the response to The Charming Squire from customers has been phenomenal,” she said.

Sydney is now conspicuous as the only state capital city without its own James Squire brewbar.

The venues have begun offering exclusive James Squire beers, starting with The Close Shave Summer Ale, “a crisp, refreshing brew that showcases the distinctive and elusive El Dorado hop”.

The Squire brewbars will have access to four specially created seasonal beers annually, according to Lion.
