Three rums produced by Australian distillers Holey Dollar Rum have walked away with ‘Best in Class’ awards at the 2010 International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), held in London.

Holey Dollar’s ‘Premium,’ ‘Overproof’ and ‘Cask Strength’ rums each won the awards for the second year running.

Last year Holey Dollar ‘Overproof’ Rum (RRP $64.99) also went on to win the ‘World’s Best Rum’ trophy in a unanimous panel vote, beating many respected Caribbean and West Indian rums.

Master distiller Stuart Gilbert takes great pride in the company’s unique distilling process, which includes using pot-stills, and extra ageing in oak barrels.

“At Holey Dollar nothing artificial is used, no expense is spared, and quality is never substituted, to create this special and unique tasting rum,” he said.

Holey Dollar Rum is the only rum which is owned and distributed by wholly Australian-owned companies, and are the current titleholders of the ‘Worldwide Distiller of the Year’ award.
