Australia’s first gin festival is returning in 2020 with two days of good times and great gin over 15 and 16 February.

Launched in Melbourne in 2015, Juniperlooza returns to the Victorian city in 2020, taking over The Boatbuilders Yard in South Wharf. This time is tipped to be the biggest year for the festival, with 23 boutique Australian and international gin producers driving the celebration.

Festival attendees will have the chance to mingle with the creators of each gin as they serve up their own signature cocktails alongside classic and twisted takes on the classic gin and tonic.

One of these creators is Head Distiller of Adelaide Hills Distillery, Sacha La Forgia, who said: “It’s probably the greatest educational party you will ever experience.”

It’s a rare opportunity to meet the people behind the gin brands we all know and love. Brendan Stegman, Area Manager for Riverland Group who operate The Boatbuilders Yard, said its much more than a regular spirit festival.

“Because Juniperlooza is more of a party than a gin show, you really get to let your hair down and enjoy the day. Producers get to do the same while doing what they love, and they know their product better than anyone so there are always some real treats on offer,” he said.

Joining the distillers is Juniperlooza’s official tonic provider for 2020, StrangeLove, with their mixers featured in gin creations throughout the festival.

To help the celebration along, there will also be live music entertainment, including Agent 86, J’nett, and local acts DJ Obliveus, Chris Gill, Lady Langers and Matt Langers.

Subscriber only early-bird tickets are on sale today and tomorrow, or until sold out, with general admission tickets then going on sale 20 November. Don’t miss out – the last Juniperlooza sold out in under a week!
