Kirrihill Wines is giving one liquor industry member the chance to participate in its 2010 vintage at Kirrihill’s Clare Valley winery.

The Adelaide Hills and Clare Valley producer will open its winery doors to a member of the trade to experience a behind the scenes look at the process of taking grapes from the vine to the bottle.

The week-long experience includes vineyard visits, fruit crushing and pressing, tastings with the winemaking team and the chance to learn about the technique of fermentation control. Kirrihill Wines will also fly the winner to its vineyard in the Clare Valley and provide accommodation for their stay.

“An experience like this, to learn hands-on the technical side of winemaking in stunning surroundings like the Clare Valley, doesn’t come along very often,” said Kirrihill Wines winemaker, Donna Stephens.

“This is someone’s chance to explore their passion for wine, yet no winemaking experience is necessary as you will be under the guidance of the Kirrihill team. Live your hidden dreams of having a vine-change and becoming a winemaker. The Kirrihill team are looking forward to welcoming an enthusiastic individual to one of the most beautiful parts of Australia in the new year.”

To enter, trade members need to email Kirrihill Wines at office@kirrihillwines.com.au and explain in 100 words or less why they want to take part in the Kirrihill vintage experience.

Entries will close on Monday, January 11. For more information, click here.
