La De Da, a North Sydney bar and restaurant run by a group of Sydney creatives, has had to close its doors this month.

A statement made via the establishment’s Facebook page admitted that the bar could no longer continue to stay open “with operational costs proving too great for us to overcome”.

The team of Rick Vaughan Aya, Paul Brabenec and Marcus King, were quick to point out that they were proud of the venture and will hold many fond memories from their time there. They recognised that the Mona Vale undertaking was “a challenging pleasure and learning experience” and are ultimately sorry that it didn’t work out.

Further comments have revealed that they “just couldn’t generate enough business to get over the top of the rent”, forcing the owners hands in closing the doors of the multipurpose venue.
