Bartenders have until the end of the week (Sep 30) to get their applications in to join the cast of The Bolivian Job, a blockbuster signature cocktail competition that could earn the winner a cash reward of up to $2,000.

The competition asks bartenders to create an Agwa de Bolivia cocktail and upload a picture of it to the competition website.

The cocktail can be from any genre such as classic, contemporary, pre-dinner, after-dinner or a long drink but must include 30ml of Agwa as the base ingredient.

Bartenders with the best cocktail entry from their state will receive a cash prize of $500 for themselves and $250 for their bar as well as getting the chance to compete for the top prize of $2,000.

The best cocktail entries will also be published in a bars&clubs Signature Cocktails Magazine.

Apart from the Bolivian Job trade cocktail incentive, SouthTrade International is running a range of trade and consumer marketing activity around the Agwa brand, centred around a visit to Australia by Alan Brogan, the commercial director of Babco, Agwa’s parent company.

Brogan is in the country until October 4 and is conducting state-based trade visits for key on- and off-premise accounts in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

He also attended the Your Shot DJ competition, which was sponsored by Agwa and held at the Royal Melbourne Hotel on September 17 and 18.

Brogan is teaming up with SouthTrade’s national training manager, Gee David, to host a range of Cocktail Masterclasses in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney during his trip.

In addition, he is also visiting venues involved in the Bolivian Job competition, as well as those venues that are running The Bolivian Kiss, an on premise consumer promotion that SouthTrade is conducting through selected accounts across the country during October.
