Several new staff appointments have been announced across the industry in recent weeks.

Margaret River-based winery, Deep Woods Estate, has named Janice McDonald as its new general manager and chief winemaker.

McDonald has extensive experience as both a winemaker and brewer, having spent six years at Matilda Bay Brewing Company before establishing Devil’s Lair winery. McDonald also played a key role at Stella Bella, where she created the Suckfizzle and Skuttlebutt brands.

McDonald was recently voted Winemaker of the Year in Campbell Mattison and Gary Walsh’s, The Big Red Wine Book 2010/11. She will commence at Deep Woods Estate at the beginning of August.

Premium Beverages has promoted Sinan Osman into the position of national accounts business manager, looking after the Premium Beverages portfolio, including Coopers. Osman has been with Premium Beverages for seven years during which time he was state manager for Western Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

The Intermedia Group, publisher of The Shout, National Liquor News, Australian Hotelier and bars&clubs magazines, has welcomed Henry Poole to the position of business development manager, working across the publishing group’s on-premise titles. Poole has previously worked in marketing and advertising in the UK.
