Lion has been named as one of Australia’s most sought after employers in a survey by social media website LinkedIn.

The 2016 LinkedIn Top Attractors List named the top 25 companies in Australia for attracting and retaining top talent, with Lion being ranked eighth overall.

The company said that it was proud to make the list, with Alicia Purtell, Lion’s people and culture director, beer, spirits and wine Australia saying: “Lion’s culture is defined by our commitment to building trust – both through our market-leading brands and through our people, who work with our all stakeholders, from our customers and suppliers to the broader community, to grow our business sustainably.

“Our people proposition sums it up best – we want people to be empowered to be the best they can be, really make a difference and have a great time doing it. That’s the kind of culture our people tell us they want to work in and it’s the kind of culture, in our experience, that delivers the best results.”

The LinkedIn list is compiled using data from the website’s 433 million-plus membership base and focuses on three key factors: job applications, follower engagement and new hire staying power.

Lion told LinkedIn it fosters an “achievement culture” among its 6,700 employees, who work across multiple offices and 34 breweries, wineries, juice and dairy sites across Australia and New Zealand.
