Global technology and customer experience provider Liven has announced its new Android-powered point-of-sale (POS) system, Abacus Android POS, designed for Australian hospitality and grocery businesses.

Liven’s first major product announcement aims to provide a solution to the hidden transaction fees, expensive hardware and additional charges associated with traditional POS systems.

Using Australian made technology, Abacus Android POS offers reduced hardware costs and incorporates essential features that would usually come at an additional cost from other suppliers. Shahrooz Chowdhury, Founder and Co-CEO of Liven, commented on the new POS system.

“Hospitality is under constant pressure to lower costs. POS alone can set an operator back many thousands of dollars with endless hidden surcharges and fees – and when it’s down for days, that just squares the pain.

“Abacus Android POS was purpose built here in Australia for Australian hospitality and grocery. It’s a first of its kind solution that delivers a world class customer experience at a fraction of the cost of alternatives. Unlike offshore vendors, we’re 100 per cent committed to the Australian market.”

Abacus Android POS is a reimagining of Abacus’s POS for iOS, integrated into an Anroid-powered hardware platform designed to meet the needs of quick service hospitality venues. The new system is designed to be up and running in under 30 minutes, supporting simple and complex needs including electronic shelf labels, cash machines and support for over 100,000 SKUs.

Pricing options for POS hardware and software contracts are free when used with Liven Payments, with richer software, support and deployment configurations starting at $49 per month.

“Innovative brands like Foodle are powered by the Liven One platform, including Abacus Android POS,” said Andy Lark, Chief Customer Officer at Liven. “Giving them all the tools and advantages that would have otherwise only been available to the biggest brands.

“The Abacus Android POS is a bulletproof solution for all their customer touch points – from the sushi bar to the bakery and grocery. It’s provided them with next-generation loyalty capabilities and a much lower cost POS without sacrificing customer experience or functionality.”
