Sydney's Lord Nelson Brewery has for the first time released a seasonal ale in packaged format.
Lord Nelson has for some years created seasonal brews served exclusively on tap at the historic brewpub. To date, these have included 111, Broadside, Anileation, Royal Red, One Eye Rye and Double Nelson.
"Naturally the next step is to make these ales available for all to enjoy," the brewer said.
"Produced in small batch lots of 500ml bottles, we aim to release one of these ales for each season. A tasty craft brew for summer, autumn, winter and spring."
Available now, the Double Nelson IPA kicks off the 500ml bottle range, coming in at 5.4 per cent ABV and 44 IBU.
"Double Nelson is produced with double the amount of select hops than our regular Pale Ales and is our take on an American style IPA," Lord Nelson said.
"It has highly hopped citrus to pine characters and a dry and bitter caramel malt finish. Some rye malt is added for texture and palate length and it is golden in colour with orange highlights. Double Nelson is a thoroughly refreshing ale."
