Melbourne bourbon fans will have an opportunity to own a piece of Maker’s Mark history this Thursday (Oct 29), when Dennis Potter, distillery and environmental operations director at Maker’s Mark, visits Dan Murphy’s Ascot Vale store.
Potter will be dipping Maker’s Mark distinctive red wax seal in an additional coat of blue wax, giving the bottle a striking resemblance to the Australian flag and a unique point of difference.
Potter will also be available to sign any purchased bottles, making it an ideal gift idea.
However, Potter said that while the bottles make great gifts, it’s important that people still get around to enjoying the contents of each bottle.
“The thing people need to remember is that the product inside hasn’t changed, even though the bottle may look a little bit fancy. We put years of work into making this hand-crafted bourbon, so we don’t want people to just stare at it on the shelf… we want them to drink it and enjoy it!” Potter told The Shout.
Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky is hand-crafted at the company’s distillery in Loretto, Kentucky.
The distillery currently produces 880,000 cases per year, with Australia as its leading export destination.
Maker’s Mark is also a leader in terms of environmental awareness, currently operating the distillery at close to 100 per cent zero discharge on waste products, and in the process of setting up a 15 acre wetlands projects on distillery land to support native wildlife.
Dennis Potter and Maker’s Mark brand ambassador, Jared Plummer, will be at Dan Murphy’s Ascot Vale store from 5 to 8pm this Thursday evening.
