One of Sydney’s newest venues, the Sanctuary Hotel, opened in style last night, with a capacity crowd filling the CBD spot.

Sanctuary Hotel is the latest addition to The Maloney Hotel Group, which includes Hotel Metropolis in North Sydney and The Clock Hotel on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

The heritage building, which previously held a restaurant, has undergone a massive renovation. It now features an expansive bar area, complete with tall tables and stools, ornate light fittings and a large bar to the rear of the room.

The venue also has a gaming room to the side, an open kitchen and a smoking area at the front of the corner hotel, which will be working to draw in the neighbouring business crowd.

Guests at the opening party last night were treated to a range of cocktails, wine and beer, while the kitchen showcased its handiwork with a variety of canapés circulating the room.

Sanctuary Hotel is on the corner of Kent St and Liverpool St in the Sydney CBD.
