Neat Spirits has announced that it will be importing the artisanal Italian vermouth brand Mancino Vermouth.
Founded in 2011, by Giancarlo Mancino – himself an award-winning bartender – the vermouth is made at a small family-run distillery in the town of Asti in the Piedmont region which has been in operation since 1957.
Giancarlo was motivated to launch his brand because he felt that the vermouth market lacked the “depth and charisma” that was present in the early 1900s, when all the cocktail classics were being created.
He says that he wanted a “vermouth that could be savoured as a solo experience and as an enhancement to cocktails by carefully bringing out its notes and flavours so as not to disturb the other spirits.”
The finished products in the range are blended with 40 different botanicals as well as some of Italy’s finest wine varietals – Trebbiano di Romagna for the Secco, Bianco (pictured), Rosso, and the aged Vecchio; while the newest addition, the Chinato, features the Barbera D’Asti.
