Manly Spirits Co. has followed the successful launch of its first limited edition whisky with the release of its signature single malt, Coastal Stone Whisky: Nor’easter.

Described as a “luxurious and contemporary whisky” Nor’easter launches with a $99 RRP, which is sure to please Australia’s whisky lovers and newcomers to the category.

David Whittaker, co-owner, and CEO of Manly Spirits Co, said: “We recognise that barrels used for maturing our whisky take on the nature of their original wine vintage. Each year’s release will take on these variations of climate and maturation conditions, we call this ‘whisky vintage’, starting with the Nor’easter Vintage of 2022.

“There is a huge future for Australian Whisky. Australia’s bold wines have taken the world by storm, with Australian Whisky well placed to follow in wine’s footsteps to become staples both domestically and in export markets.

“Manly Spirits has a team of passionate brewers and distillers using custom equipment designed by us to create an exceptional fine and malty new make spirit for optimum barrel maturation. The result showcases an honest story of dedication and a truly Australian-made whisky.”

The whisky has matured in both Australian ex-wine and classic American/French oak barrels to create a whisky “full of rich dark fruits and five spice, with a long, elegant finish”.

Premium quality packaging has been maintained with a designer gift box and bespoke glass with a real sandstone stopper.

Vanessa Wilton, Co-owner says, “Everything we do at Manly Spirits Co. celebrates the Australian coast and we are very much connected to our location on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. You’ll see this in our gins, vodkas, and liqueurs, showcasing the incredible variety of coastal & marine botanicals. For our Nor’easter single malt whisky, we wanted to highlight coastal elements – time, wind, water – how they all work together to create our beautiful balanced whisky.”

“We’re extremely proud of the quality and bold flavours that have come out of these casks,” says Dave Richards, Distillery Manager, and accomplished winemaker. You can expect smooth & bold aromatic flavours combined with the signature maritime influence of the Sydney coast delivering an exceptional whisky.”

The whisky is available now across off- and on-premise.
