Martell brand development manager, Thierry Giraud, and regional director South Asia, Laurent Zammit, have visited the Australian liquor trade over the past week to educate the on- and off-premise about Cognac.

"With global sales of Cognac growing around 11 percent over the past year, traditional markets such as the UK are strong combined with strong growth in emerging Cognac markets like Asia." said Giraud.

Having just visited Indonesia and Malaysia, Giraud and Zammit were in Australia to showcase their super premium range of Martell Cognacs.

These included Martell VSOP (RRP $87.99), Cordon Bleu (RRP $202), XO (RRP $223) and Grand Extra (RRP over $500). 

Trade in both Melbourne and Sydney have been treated to a number of tastings to showcase these Cognacs and encourage further growth in the Australian market ahead of the spring and summer months.

Giraud and Zammit expect to see further growth in the Australian market particularity because of the close trade and cultural ties between Australia and China as well as South East Asia.

Martell has been making Cognac since 1715 and is owned and distributed by Pernod Ricard.
