Craft brewer Matilda Bay has initiated a national campaign to showcase some of its most recognised brands with a series of tap takeovers at popular beer venues.

Kicking off at Brisbane's The Plough Inn next week from Monday to Sunday, the 'Garden Bar' will feature six brews on tap, with menu treats and suggestions from chef Ben Wrigley.

Next month the party will move to Sydney, putting its mark on the Newtown Hotel for nearly five weeks from 16 September to 21 October.

The hotel will be decked out with Matilda Bay theming, and will host a dinner with marketing manager Jamie Fox on September 19.

"The Matilda Bay Brewery Bar in Port Melbourne is a place where our brand is brought to life," Matilda Bay's general manager marketing global & craft, Vincent Ruiu, told TheShout.

"We wanted to give Queensland and NSW drinkers that same experience and showcase all of the brews in the Matilda Bay family."
