Alcohol and cigarettes are to be delivered straight to Melbourne doorsteps with new online and phone service Slab-Cab.
Using the motto ‘you drink, we drive’, Slab-Cab has a range of beers, wine, Sparkling, Champagne, spirits, RTDs, soft drinks, cigarettes, glassware, equipment and even staff for hire to pour the drinks.
A Liquor Licensing Victoria spokesperson said the company had obtained a renewable limited licence with particular conditions.
“The company must follow the usual liquor licensing regulations including ID checks and not selling to minors, as well as further restrictions to operating hours,” the spokesperson said.
The service operates 9:00am to 11:00pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am to 11:00pm on Sundays, and just like ordering a pizza the drinks are delivered within 30 minutes.
