Four of Australia’s top whisky distilleries will gather together over the next three days (Feb 3-5) to toast and celebrate the local whisky movement.

Billing itself as ‘The Australian Whisky Spectacular’, Baranows Lounge in Hawthorn Victoria will place host to the event, which will see representatives from Sullivans Cove, The Lark, Limeburners and Bakery Hill distilleries gather together to taste each other’s whiskies.

There are three tastings to choose from, with today’s trade tasting from 2pm and two public tastings tomorrow and Thursday at 7:30pm.

The event will also see the launch of Tumbler magazine, Australia’s first magazine dedicated to whisky, with editor Kristy Booth in attendance.

Australian whisky is an area which is slowly gaining global popularity, as well as winning awards at major international spirits competitions.
